As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rita may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Billie Evans and Gladys Evans (Finlay); and her nephew James Laymon. She is survived by: her husband Barry Laymon; her daughter Emily; her son-in-law Chuck Smith; her brother-in-law Bill Laymon (Donna); her siblings, Billie Watkins (Kenny), Angie Thurman, Susan Harmon (Larry) and Ethan Evans (Dusti); and her uncle Stuart Evans.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schaudt Okmulgee Chapel (220 S Alabama Ave, Okmulgee, OK 74447). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (1327 E 13th St, Okmulgee, OK 74447).
