She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Loftin (Fleming) of Virginia and Eugene Loftin; her siblings, Ronald Loftin, Joe Loftin and Nina Stange; her daughter Nina Snow; and her grandson Joe Snow.
She is survived by: her husband William A. Melson Jr.; her children, Gina McElyea, Dana Dooley and William Alexander Melson III; and her grandchildren, William McElyea, Waylon McElyea, David McElyea, Jared Melson, Coleton Melson, Alexanderia Melson, Thomas Dooley, Dayen Dooley, Dayla Dooley, Lorie Dooley, Jennifer Snow and Justin Snow. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
