James Ross Thompson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Ross Thompson in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thompson and Marjorie Thompson (Newkirk); and his siblings, Dorthy Sue, Mary Baker and John Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Laveta Thompson; his children, Teresa Rowland (Bill) of Okmulgee and Charles Thompson (Amy) of Urbana; his brother David Thompson (Marie); his grandchildren, Philip Rowland (Angela), Dayla Rowland, Colin Thompson and Will Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Micaiah Rowland, Emmett Rowland, Joseph Rowland and Hananiah Rowland.
Viewing was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (319 N Atterberry St, Atlanta, MO 63530). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
