We bid farewell to Virginia Sue McGowen (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 26, 2024 at the age of 92. Virginia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas D Weatherton and Fannie C. Harris Weatherton; her siblings, Howard Weatherton, Lawrence Mac Weatherton, H. L. Utley, Thomas Utley and Cora Weatherton Upton Ulrich; her grandsons, Alex and Patrick McGowen; and her nieces and nephews, Keith Upton, David Upton, Tom Utley, Nerva Utley Lane and Phyllis Utley Leerstang.
She is survived by: her husband Alvin McGowen; her children, Dan (Debbie McGowen), Stephen (Connie McGowen) and Vicki (John Watson); her grandchildren, Deanna Prufert, Lori, Tim Gourley, Daniel, Diana McGowen, Andrew Bryant, Ryan McGowen, Derrek McGowen, Dustin and Sarah McGowen; and her great grandchildren, Dylan, Devyn McGowen, Logan, Abigail, Maxwell Prufert, Mason Gourley, Wendy, Patrick McGowen, Grace and Liam McGowen. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary South (6934 S Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73139). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary South Colonial Chapel (6934 S Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73139). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the San Bois Cemetery (30300-30324 W., San Bois).
