He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Rebecca Bryan (Patrick), Tyler Watkins (Brandi) and Lauren Browder (Phillip); his grandchildren, Gus, Cormac, Cadel, Maggie Bryan, Mallory Watkins and Claire Browder; and his brothers, Brian Wood (Theresa) and Daniel Wood.

“Thanks to his wife Janet, I met Rick several years ago after he needed some rehabilitation for his knees. We had a lot in common, both being Tulsans. and we attended rival high schools there. . We talked a lot about our hobbies, told many jokes, especially when doing his knee rehab. When his knees got good enough, we went on a bike ride to an excellent BBQ on old Route 66. (Janet was not pleased) He was a great friend, and an incredible physician. He is missed. RIP my friend. Tom Keith”

“It was a very bad day when we lost Dr. Rick Wood. He was an excellent Dr. and good friend to have. I've known him as my doctor, a doctor I worked with often at Mercy Hospital, ( I was a respiratory therapist there for 29 years), and also as a friend of his and Janet. His memory will never dim for all that knew him. He was a good man, although a bit "salty" and stubborn personality wise! But we all admired his tenacity for work, and love for his wife, Janet.
