He was predeceased by: his parents, Eresho "Ranch" Charles Clay and Artemus "Artie" Dora Clay (Haynes); his siblings, Aurella M Martin, Hubert Roy Clay, William Ray Clay, Dora Mae Dunkin, Orin M. Clay and Mary Slawson; and his siblings-in-law, Cecil L. Brown and Juanita Goff.

He is survived by: his wife Edna "Val" Valdean Clay; and his nephew James Brown (Lou).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary South Lakes (4000 SW 119th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73173). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the South Lakes Chapel (4000 SW 119th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73173). A burial was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Heritage Burial Park.
