Jo Nell Ross Obituary
On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, Jo Nell left her earthly home to go to her heavenly home to meet her Heavenly Father. Jo Nell Burchfield Ross was born on July 3, 1932 in Byers, Texas to Manzy and Francis Burchfield and was the youngest of 8 children. As a young girl she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and followed Him faithfully all the years of her life.
She married Guy Edward Ross July 21, 1950 and together they had four loving children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and brother, her loving husband, and her son Eddie Ross. She leaves behind her children: Pam Olstad and husband Dale, Daryl Ross and wife Kim, and Terry Sanders and husband Gary. Her grandchildren: Tyler Nicholson and wife Katrina, Todd Nicholson, Mike Sanders and wife Danielle, Tanner Nicholson, Jarrod Ross and wife Sarah, Randy Sanders and wife Heather, Josh Ross, TJ Sanders and wife Hayley, and Jaymie Ross Morgan and husband Moriah.
Her great grandchildren: Emma, Jake, and Levi Sanders, Taryn and Kamryn Ross, Kinsley and Tatum Sanders, Baker Sanders, and Elodie Nicholson. A host of nieces, nephews and loving friends. Jo Nell served her Lord faithfully the last 50 years with her family at Bethel Baptist in OKC and Brookwood Baptist in OKC. She was a Sunday School teacher, a homebound minister, and loved others through her ministry of cooking.
She cooked for funeral dinners, banquets, and showed the best example of hospitality by opening her home to serve meals to so many through the years. The number of people and kids she fed at Friday lunches were more than we could count. She loved on people and was always willing to help anyone she could. Jo Nell was loved by all who knew her; she made each of us feel special and will be greatly missed.
Visitation for Jo Nell will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Brookwood Baptist Church, 8921 S. Walker Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73139. Funeral Services are 3:00 PM, Friday, September 29, 2017 at Brookwood Baptist Church.
