He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Christopher Steyer Sr. and Margaret Steyer; his wife Janet Kennedy; his daughters, Barbara Loyd (David) of Lawton, Gayle Steyer (Ty Edwards) of Norman and Leslie Steyer (Deanna Eddleman); and his sister Janet Woodard (Tom) of Santa Rosa, California. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
