He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vester "Butch" McKinney and Opal Ruth McKinney (Smith); and his siblings, Barbara Ann Armstrong and Ron McKinney. He is survived by: his wife Vicky; his children, Kris McKinney (Tara) of Peyton, Jim McKinney of Tulsa and Jamie Schmidt (Joey) of Norman; and his grandsons, Daniel and Samuel Schmidt.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home (301 N 3rd St, Okemah, OK 74859).
Donations, in memory of Dr. McKinney, may be made to the Okfuskee County Historical Center.
