He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Frank" Lester Shields and Viola Marie Shields (Brown); his grandson Jeremy Shields; his sister Charlotte Ousley; and his son-in-law Jack Brewster.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Shields; his children, Billy Ray Shields (Amy) of Okemah, Timmy Wayne Shields (Shirley) of Okemah, Chance Shields (Amanda) of Okemah and Leslie Brewster of Mason; his sister Kay McGee (Donald) of Okemah; his grandchildren, Kennedy Brewster, Kade Brewster, Lane Shields, Braxton Shields, Wyatt Chartney, Piper Shields, Tyler Neal, Matthew Neal, Ashley Green, Brayden Scearce and Jillian Spriggs; his great grandchildren, Indi Spriggs, Blane Spriggs, Avery Neal and Aveitia Neal; and his brother-in-law Sonny Ousley of Okemah. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
