He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Ruth Wahl; his son George Melborne; his parents, Worth and Lucy; his siblings, Margie Allen and Clarence; his granddaughter Gena Haffner; and his nephew Rusty.

He is survived by: his children, Betty Marie, Bessie Lucille and Billy Merl; his siblings, Melborne, Mary Lou Pearson and Lorene Johnson; his sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Pearson and Virginia Pearson; his children, Betty Martin, Bessie Becker and Bill Pearson (Diane); and his grandchildren, Andy (Linda Wedel), Randy Wedel, Matthew (Kaylie Pearson), Elizabeth (Zach Jackson) and Doug Martin.
