He is survived by: his children, Valencia Howell (Bonnie Allen) and Benson Howell; his grandsons, Thomas Edward Howell, James Isaac Howell, James Robert Sanders and Darin Andrew Sanders; his great grandchildren, Julieanne Sanders, Mikey Ballard, Ayla Nichols, Morgan Sanders and Megan Sanders; and his great great grandchild Josiah Nichols.
