With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Winford Bartley Wharton of Norman, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 25, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Eddie Wharton and Mamie Ludella Wharton; his pet Mia; his son Brett Michael Wharton; his brother Don Wharton; his former wife Jane Quam Hamilton; his wife Gwen Wharton; his daughters, Pam Ables, Shari Calia and Lisa (Jeff Mattich); his grandchildren, Amber (Seth Bills), Ryan (Tiffany Ledgerwood), Brett (Aly Wilson), Katrina (Dustin Summers), Connor Calia, Natalie and Blake Mattich; his goddaughter Jennifer Diane Gibson; his great grandchildren, Skye, Rayne Ledgerwood, Cru Calia, Lukas Harred, Kaleb, Cooper Summers, Ryleigh, Porter Wilson and Holland Bills; his sisters, Janice Justice and Rebecca Foster; and also, Don, Janice and Rebecca.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Sooner Bowl Youth program to help pay for tournament fees and other bowling and educational opportunities for young bowlers in Norman.
