He is survived by: his siblings, Charlie Erwin and Patti Highsmith (Bob); his children, Tim Garoutte (Ashley) and Rhonda Wingate (Johnny); and his grandchildren, Tasha Garoutte, Kyle Wingate (Kayla) and Kassidy Tallant (Jacob). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews.
