It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Royal Dean Self of Norman, Oklahoma, born in Stringtown, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 16, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Royal Dean may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Royal Dean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Phillip and Mary Self (Griggs); his siblings, J. W. Self, Farris Self, Jackie Self of Bertha Lewis, B. D, Manion, Cora Thelma Powell and Inez Knight; and his grandson Christopher Self.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth Self (Gwyn) of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandson Bryse Self; and his brother Johnny Self (Zelma) of Stringtown, OK. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown's Funeral Service (3750 W Main St, Norman, OK 73072). A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Stringtown Cemetery.
