He was predeceased by: his parents, T. J. Shelton and Clara Belle Shelton; and his son-in-law Lee Capps. He is survived by: his wife Mary Shelton (Robinson); his children, Billie Capps, Mike Shelton (Leesa), Kendra Nichols (Jon), Kathryn Childers (Brian) and James Martin (Fong); his grandchildren, Andrew (Laura), Bradley (Makenzie), Blake (Katy), Joey (Penny), Cara (Todd), Josiah (Caytlin), Katelyn (Matthew), Mason and Karstyn; and his great grandchildren, Michael, Keagan, Kash, Kypton, Kymber, Theo, Zeke, Samson, Adaline and Carter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 3132 Tri City Ave, Newcastle, OK 73065. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Seaman First Class Billy Turner Ardmore Veterans Cemetery (1555 Myall St, Ardmore, OK 73401).
