He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Horton Hopkins and Virginia Boyd; his brother Jimmie Rex Hopkins; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Kinsey and Carl Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Hopkins; his daughters, Teresa Elam, Karen Goodchild and Courtney Hopkins; his son-in-law Peter Goodchild; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Elam, Nicholas Elam, Adam Goodchild and Paul Goodchild; and his sister-in-law Jetty Carlton (Keith). He is also survived by half sister and many nieces and nephews.
