He was predeceased by: his parents, Mae Pipes and Woodrow Pipes; his sister Leathita Raspberry; his daughters, Debra Charlene Swaim and Julie Kathleen Simon; his son-in-law Allan Dean Piercy; his grandchild Zackary Dale Pipes; and his great grandchild Paizlie Kay Rayne Forson.
He is survived by: his former wife Carolyn Baxter; his wife Ladawn; his children, Nathan Boyd Pipes, Jr. (Joyce), Linda Lou Hancik (Carl), Rebecca Sue Piercy, Billy J. Bennett (Cherrie), Kevin L. Bennett (Suzy) and Forrest Jay Bennett; and his sister Brenda Balzano. He is also survived by 8 children, 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
