He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lawrence Heard Jr. and Arminta Fant; his brothers, Leslie, Vincent and Oscar; and his daughter Angela Poe.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Heard; his children, Steven Heard (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA, Stephane Williams (Vernon) of Atlanta, GA, Shalene Nealy (Shawn) of Yukon, OK, Tony Heard (Varissa) of Bloomfield, NM, Samantha Heard (Nick) of Mustang, OK and Jayrin Liles of Mustang, OK.; his grandchildren, Lake, Chris, Giana, Gavin, Aiden, Savannah, Sophia, Aydan, Nicholas and Marshall; and his great grandchild Aurora.
He served in the FAA for 37 years and 4 months, and his contributions to the aviation industry were highly respected and admired.
