He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Prehara and Mary Prehara; his wife Nancy Prehara; his son Kenneth Prehara; and his sister Nancy Dickey of Los Angeles.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Prehara, Stephen Prehara (Casandra Prehara) and Pamela; his children-in-law, Mike Schmidthuber and LaDonna Prehara; his sister Linda Freeman; and his brother-in-law Jimmy Bradshaw (Wilma). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
