“JOHN AND I WERE BEST FRIENDS IN THE 6TH GRADE (MRS. SKIPPER'S CLASS) IN ADDITION TO BEING IN SCOUTS AND SAFETY PATROL. IN 1965, I JOINED THE BAND, THE SURS, JOHNNY WAS FORMING. HE NEEDED A DRUMMER SO I BOUGHT A LUDWIG SUPER CLASSIC SET WITH ZILDJAN CYMBOLS. IT WAS A FUN BAND. THEN WE LOST TOUCH. I'M SORRY 2 HEAR OF JOHN'S DEATH; OUR BIRTHDAYS WERE ONLY DAYS APART. RIP”
