With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ellen Bright of Muskogee, Oklahoma, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Ellen left this world on January 27, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Moore and Patsy Moore (Jackson); her husband Reverend John Houston Bright; her grandson Lonnie Houston Bright; and her siblings, Charles, Albert, Bill, John Ed, Virginia, Olen and Clyde.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Howard Bright (Rita) of Oktaha, Gary Wayne Bright (Alice), Sharon Kay Glenn of Henryetta, Texas and Karon McGreger (JT) of Muskogee; and her siblings, Dwight Moore (Helen), Paul Moore and Stella Medlock (Kenneth). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Garrett Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (311 SW 2nd St, Checotah, OK 74426). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Granite Station Cowboy Church (1128 White Stag Ave, Checotah, OK 74426).
