He was predeceased by: his parents, Dollie Ruth Townsend (Walker) and Truman Britton Townsend; his daughter Rita Caughman; his siblings, Linda Sue McCullum, Clarence, Travis, Gerald and Jackie Townsend; his grandson David Townsend, Jr.; and his great grandchild Owen Cantrell.
He is survived by: his children, Amanda Cantrell (Jeffery), David Townsend (Kimberly) and John Townsend (Marilyn); and his sister Virgie Buttery of Broken Arrow, OK. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel (904 E Shawntel Smith Blvd, Muldrow, OK 74948). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the Liberty Cemetery.
