He is survived by: his mother Jean Carey Thompson of Chattanooga, TN; his sisters, Cathy Thompson and Erika Gyökeres of Budapest; his sons, Dustin (Christy Thompson) of Pawleys Island, SC, Wayne (Jeannie Williams) of Cumby, TX, James (Laura Thompson) of White Oak, TX and Eldon (Kayla Thompson) of Geary, OK; his grandchildren, Abigail, Evan, Evelyn, Anna, Adeline, Charlie, Sawyer, Adler, Grace and Scarlett; and his significant other Sharon Marie Garwood of Atkinson.
