He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Hinant and Addie Belle Hinant (Turner); his wife Della Hinant; and his siblings, John, Jim Hinant and Addie Lou Smith.

He is survived by: his son Mark M. Hinant; his grandchildren, Andrea Gile, Ariel Ascencio, Brett Gile and Cyle Johnson; his great grandchildren, Pinky Gile, Sammy Gile, Chloe Ascensio and Leandro Ascencio; and his brother Michael Hinant.
