He was predeceased by: his parents, William Payne and Floys Payne; his son Guy David; and his brother William Darrell Payne. He is survived by: his daughter Donna Payne; his grandchildren, Kathleen Thurman (Katie), Sean Thurman and Angela Payne; his great grandchildren, Abigail Kolleen Thurman and Gabriel James Thurman; his former wife Sue Von Neal; and his close friend Wayne McElroy (Joyce Woolsey). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
