He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Belle (Slatton) and Jack Matthews; and his wife Jean. He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Zink (Stewart), Donna Shaw (Keith) and Sharon Hunt (Mark); and his grandchildren, Kyle Zink (Lindsay), Kalie Greene (Jess), Carlye Shaw, Sean Hunt (Kristen) and Sarah Billings (Blake). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
