He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. McCoy and Dorthy Lee Wellchel (Baker); and his siblings, Melvin McCoy, Eugene McCoy, Jackie McCoy, Joann Tipton, Bernice Bernard, Carolyn Hall and Ladonna Givens.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy McCoy; his children, Donald McCoy Jr. (Jennifer), Chris McCoy (Kim) and Kristi Easter (Jeff); his grandchildren, Cody, Britney, Caylin, Cory, Michael, Kadyn and Cheyenne; his great grandchildren, Aspen, Athena, Freyja, Joseph James and Avery; his sister Linda Hancock; and his mother-in-law Charlotte Tyra. He is also survived by "Mama", and many more family members and friends.
