He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Blackerby and Clytis Blackerby; and his wife Billie Blackerby. He is survived by: his children, Bill Blackerby (Becca) of Phoenix, AZ, Terry Liles (James) of Lampe, MO, Jay Blackerby (Donna) of Palestine, TX and Ken Blackerby (Katrena) of Lewisville, TX; and his siblings, Jani Beth Walker (Jeff) of Amarillo, TX, Jo, Selvidge of Amarillo, Jim Blackerby (Carolyn) of Amarillo and Jackie Ricks (Thomas) of Mineola, TX.. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a tribute page has been set up for memorial donations to be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
