He was predeceased by: his adoptive father Alfonso Garcia; and his mother Mae Garcia. He is survived by: his daughters, Andrea Zapata (Hector) of Arlington, TX, Alicia Pineda (Paul) of Grand Prairie, TX and Amanda LaCour (Shelby Berry) of Alexandria, LA; his sister Vikki Marquez of Antioch, CA; and his grandchildren, Gabe, Cora Zapata, Ellie, Evan Pineda, Renaldo and Romiyah Miller. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
