He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Lawson Pitts; his son Derek L. Pitts; his brothers, Stephen A. Pitts and David M. Pitts; and his parents, Harley Pitts and Carol Pitts.
He is survived by: his children, Bryce D. Pitts and Courtney W. Pitts; his sister Ruth (Les Harness); his granddaughters, Cassie Boye (Tyler) of Wisconsin, Lauryn M. Pitts and Annaleise E. Pitts; and his cousins, Mike Lee and Joyce (Tom Buerge). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
