With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nelda Benton (Midwest City, Oklahoma), born in Lawrence, Kansas, who passed away on January 22, 2019 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lewis J. Cochran and Verna N. Cochran (Cope); her sister Anita; her husband Darwin K. Benton; her sons, Dan L. Benton of Spencer, OK and Andrew K. Benton of Malibu, CA; her grandchildren, Hailey, Chris, Megan and Evan; her great grandchildren, Jackson and Paige Kelly; and her siblings-in-law, Joy and Larry Becker of Papillion, NE. She was also cherished by many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to the Lawrence Public Schools Foundation and may be sent in care of the Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
