As Lawanda departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Lawanda. Though Lawanda may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lindsey McDonald and Lola McDonald of Temple, Oklahoma.; her brother Don; and her great grandchild Chandler (Al Higdon). She is survived by: her husband Elvin "Al" Higdon; and her sons, Jerry and Lin. She is also survived by wives, six grandchildren, and multiple great and great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ford Funeral Service (305 S Sooner Rd, Midwest City, OK 73110). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sunny Lane Cemetery (4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK 73115).
