He was predeceased by: his father Amos Hendershot, Jr.; his brother Gary Ladon; and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Collins and Terry Hall. He is survived by: his sons, Leslie Hendershot Jr. (My-Ngoc Tran) of Mustang, OK and Kyle Rucker; his stepsons, Jeremy Bell of Midwest City, OK and Ryan Bell (Katherine) of Mesquite, TX.; his mother Rosalie Thompson of Lenexa, KS.; his siblings, Linda Moyer (Jim) of Lenexa, KS., Kathy Collins of McLoud, OK, Rita Ecker (Mike) of Amarillo, TX, Ronnie Ladon (Nina) of Vandalia, IL, Larry Hendershot of Midwest City, OK and John; and his sister-in-law Linda Short of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
