“She absolutely loved her children and grandchildren. I felt as if I had met every one of them. She loved to look forward to her shopping trips with her dear friend. I'm sorry I can't recall her name at this time, but she loved shopping with her. Joann loved to give to others and surprise them. I will never forget her. She is a very precious lady. I know she loved Jesus with all her heart and she's up in Heaven resting now. I'll see you soon, Joann.”

“Last Christmas, I mistakenly opened somebody else's popcorn they had purchased as part of a fundraiser. I was sure I had bought that popcorn. We sat in my office giggling and commenting about how good it was. "Do you want some more? I asked her. She said, "No, I'm not going to eat all your popcorn." Oh, come on, I replied as I poured more into her little plate. When I found out later it was somebody else's. The two of us laughed so hard. She said I had fed her stolen property.”

“Joann was such a precious friend to me. She would push her little housekeeping cart down the hall and it always had some sort of holiday decoration on it. She loved to reminisce about growing up on the farm and how perfect her mother was. We shared recipes, but she said she would much rather eat than cook. I can just hear her laughing now as I share that story. Her and I loved our rhubarb pie.”
