He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Newkirk and Gladys Newkirk; his wife Barbara Newkirk (Stoner); his son Jeffrey; his grandsons, Chris Pugh and Kyle Pugh; his great grandchild Gracie Pugh; his son-in-law Charles Pugh; his siblings, Evelyn Hemphill, Betty Shroy, Bea Newkirk, Bill Newkirk, James Newkirk and Jerry Newkirk; and his siblings-in-law, Dolly Newkirk, Joy Stoner and Dick Shroy.
He is survived by: his niece Sandy Norton (Richard) of Mound Valley; his siblings-in-law, Mettie Newkirk of Peculiar, Bill Stoner of Miami, Eddy Stoner (Sherry) of Fairland and Don Stoner (Dixie) of Bluejacket; his grandchildren, Chelsea Wilson (Kyle), Charlie McQuigg and Kayla McQuigg; and his great grandchildren, Clayton Pugh and Jarrett Pugh. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church in Bluejacket in honor of Mr. Newkirk.
