He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Rushing and Ruby Rushing; his son Earl; and his siblings, Mike, Joe, Kenneth, Ruby and Kathern.

He is survived by: his wife Thelma; his children, Dennis, Susan and Jenny; and his siblings, Gene, Jack, Leonna, Lualle and May. He is also survived by grand kids and great grand kids.
