It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Sumpter (Meeker, Oklahoma), born in Warner, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 6, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Johnson and Gladys Johnson; her husband Arvel Sumpter; her daughter Melinda Beth Johnson; her grandson Michael Johnson; and her siblings, Clinton, Johnnie, Brown, Claudie, Billy and Anna Lou.
She is survived by: her daughter Jannie Barrington (Joe); her granddaughter Mishelle Johnson of Stillwater; her great grandchildren, Quinton Johnson of Stillwater, Nicolas Johnson of Bedford, Katelin Sanogo of Stillwater and Carli Winchester of Tempe; and her sister Zula Faught of Checotah.
