He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Choate, Sr. and Itsie Choate (Battiest); and his siblings, Rufus Choate, Jr., Frances Muskrat and May Varner.
He is survived by: his sons, John Jon Choate of Mead and Jeremy James Choate of Durant, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Elijah Cole Choate of Mead, Bella Rose Pagano of Mead and Nashoba Nash Choate of Florida; and his siblings, Andrew Choate (Norma) of Finley, Franklin Choate of Bennington, Melvin Choate of Winterhaven, California and Ruth Morgan (John) of Sherman.
John's family would like to suggest in lieu of flowers memorial be made to the Sulphur Springs Methodist Church, PO Box 123, Bennington, Oklahoma, 74743.
