He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Hazel Ann Middleton (Kirkpatrick); and his grandson Liam FinnMicheal Kearney. He is survived by: his wife Christine Middleton (Ancona); his sons, Frank J. Kearney (Angie) of Kansas City, KS, Micheal Kearney (Kelly) of Vilseck, James Carter (Elizabeth) of Blue Spring, MO and Clinton Carter (Cassidy) of Lawrence, KS; his grandchildren, Shantell Briceno, Kellie Kearney, Cara Lynn Carter, Caden Carter and Amelia Carter; his great grandchildren, Kyron Kearney and Rosalie Anderson; and his siblings, Jamie Clark (Karl Whitacre) of Greenwood, MO and Jim Middleton of Lee's Summit, MO.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. An entombment was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (8300 Quivira Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215).
