He was predeceased by: his father Louie B. Cook; his brother L. B. Cook, Jr.; his brother-in-law Curtis Crater; his mother Flora Annie Cook (Shillings); his nephew William "Billy" D. Cook, Jr.; his brother-in-law Paul Gillispie, Sr.; his nephews, David Crater and Curtis Gillispie; his sisters, Flossie M. Gillispie (Cook) and Betty Jean Crater; the mother of his children Margaret Anne Cook; and his brother William David Cook, Sr..
He is survived by: his sons, Peter N. Cook (Lynne L. Hagerup) of Oceanside, Paul A. Cook of Burlington, Patrick C. Cook (Tracy A. Meier) of South Burlington and Michael L. Cook of Nashville, Tennessee.; his nieces and nephews, Paul Gillispie, Jr. (Brenda Gillispie), Glenda Dedmon of Alba Wood, TX, Robert Gillispie of McAlester, Oklahoma, Deborah Crater of Perry, Oklahoma and Brenda Cook of Houston, Texas; his sister-in-law Carolyn Cook of Monticello; his nephews, James Cook (Shirley Cook) of Camden and Louis Cook (Karri Cook) of Bossier City, Louisiana.; his daughter Kacie Bourgault of Columbia; his former wife Ida Laura Marineau of Montpelier, Vermont.; and his brother W. D. "Dub" Cook. He is also survived by neighbors, friends, former in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, his lifelong favorite charities were the Salvation Army, the Disabled American Veterans and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
