He was predeceased by: his parents, Velma Lee (Cowan) and Roy Dale Howell; his children, Wesley Dale Howell, Brenda Lee Howell and James Matthew Howell; his grandmothers, Mabel Hightower and Lelia "Ma" Howell; and his brother Glen Paul Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Kay Wiggins; his children, Roy William Howell (Shelly) and Becky Beaird (Scotty); and his siblings, Lewis Howell, Jimmy Dale Howell, Charles Howell, Jess Howell, Joe Don Howell, Phillip Howell, Arvy Howell, Mark Howell, Ricky Howell, Sharon Templeton, Bobbie Fullingim, Janet Freeman, Lelia Williams and Joyce Helmer.
