He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulysses Grant Mead and Gurtie Irene Mead (Pool); and his grandson Joseph Wharton. He is survived by: his wife Doris Mead of Tishomingo; his children, Steve Wharton (Denise) of Frisco, TX, Dale Toon (Kathy) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Suzie Toon of Fontana, CA, Kathy Agraz (Freddie) of Bedford, TX and Willie Jo Mead of Noble, OK; his grandchildren, Danielle Olenski, Derek Toon, Arielle Long, Eric Smith, Michael Wharton, Jaycee Willis and Steven Willis; his great grandchildren, Austin Smith and Kayelee Olenski; and his brothers, Gene, James, Arthur, Norman and Grady Mead.
