He was predeceased by: his parents, Burleigh Garretson and Eunice Garretson (Rutledge); his daughters, Donna Jean Garretson and Jerry Lynn Garretson; and his sister Barbara Jean Hinesley.
He is survived by: his daughter Shari Lynn Gloria; and his siblings, Garry Garretson and Virginia Bane. He is also survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
