He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Hiatt and Fay Hiatt (Will); and his son Ty Lee Hiatt. He is survived by: his wife Sandra K. Hiatt; his sister Margaret; his brother-in-law Joe Baze of Noble, OK; and his children, Bill (Keri Hiatt), Amy Hiatt of Norman, OK, Kanda (Tony Vince) and Eric Burkes of Luther, OK. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren who will remember that Grandpa.

“I am Ty Lee Hiatt's aunt Donna. My sister, Phyllis, is Ty Lee's mother. My sympathies to Bill's family on his passing. Every year, there seem to be a flower arrangement left on Ty Lee's grave that was not put there by our family. My parents, brother and I would always comment that we felt it was put there by Bill.
