It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Eugene Barnes of Longdale, Oklahoma, born in Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Barnes, and Ruby Barnes, Sr. (Moore); his wife Jackie Barnes; his daughter Macie Barnes; his sisters, Cathy Brown and Sandra Williams; his uncles, Terry Moore and Blair Moore; and his brother-in-law George Hail.

He is survived by: his children, Billy Barnes (Robin), Terry Barnes and Eva Bierig; his son-in-law Will Atchley; his siblings, Timmy Barnes and Debbie Barnes; his uncle Rick Moore; and his grandchildren, Skyler Barnes, Brent Schroeder, Arcie Bierig, Ryleigh Bierig, Jacie May Murray, Tavie Bierig, Carly Barnes, Billy Barnes Jr., Koben Atchley, Rylee Smith, Lexi Reyes, Jolie Atchley and Isaac Barnes.
