He was predeceased by: his parents, Vestal Taylor "Dock" Nelson and Hermina Tilda "Minnie" Nelson (Radant); his siblings, Linda Westmoreland and David Nelson; his grandson Joe Anthony Navarro; and his nephew Carroll Monte Stanley.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Silman (Rick) and Larry Keith Nelson (Toni); his grandchildren, Kameron Sheward (Sara), Bridget Borja (German), Kendall Bailey (Jeremy) and Bradley Nelson (Cheyenne); his great grandchildren, Koby Sheward, Kayden Sheward, Landen Borja and Nico Borja; and his sisters, June McFarland and Gail Eubanks.
