He was predeceased by: his parents, Roel Ellis and Mabel Ellis (Buzzard); his wife Judy Ann Hatfield; and his siblings, Robert, Larry, Richard, Ted Ellis and Romaine Sherwood.
He is survived by: his children, Heather Ellis of Pryor, Laurel Ellis of Montrose and John Ellis (Brandi) of Chouteau, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Tiffany Couch (Cody) of Chouteau, Amanda Gardner of Watford City, Melissa Davis of Pryor, Andrew Stephens of Los Angeles, Natalie Stephens of Pryor, Elizabeth, Jamie, Jeff Pardo of Montrose, John Ellis (Audrey) of Shawnee and Angel Ellis of Chouteau, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Mercedes, Aedon, Oliver, Maxon, Mariana, Mason, Jackson, Cecelia, Alexander, Zachary, Robert, Brynn and Beckham; and his sisters, Anna Walls of West Virginia, Marsha Travers of Florida, Kathy Lively (Dee) of West Virginia and Vicki McNeil (Mike) of West Virginia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
