He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Orin Kern and Veda Blanche Kern (McFarland); his wife Oleta Jones (Bible); his daughter Marguerite; his brother Junior Kern; his son Greg Kern; his son-in-law Doug Rial; his granddaughter Becky Cottom; and his great grandchild Jake Pilgrim.
He is survived by: his significant other Marguerite LaDell Rutherford; his children, Loren Gregory, Leslie Lewis, Marian Pilgrim of Locust Grove, Les Kern (Terri) of Locust Grove and Sarah Rial Johnson (Tim) of Pryor; his daughter-in-law Debby Russell Kern of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sister Dolores Watley of Sioux Falls; his brother-in-law Jeff Vaughan of Peggs; and his grandchildren, Maradee Ulbrich (Robert), Jerrod Pilgrim (Tyra), Melissa Kern, Emily Garcia, Loren Riley Kern (Laurel), Kim Hamblin (Steve), Rachel Everett (Sean), Russell Kern (Erin), Audra Maxson (Nick) and Cassie Balmos (Cal). He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
