He was predeceased by: his parents, Clemens Raymond Brooks and Ruth Elizabeth Brooks; his former wife Sally Patricia Jimenez; and his son David Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Brooks; his sister Kathy Brooks of Oklahoma City; his children, Michael Brooks (Jessica), Rebecca Lane (David) of Oklahoma City and Aimee Russell (Kristofer) of Oklahoma City; his grandchildren, Joshua Brooks, Dustin Brooks, Michael Joaquin Brooks, Lucy Brooks, Sarah Jones (Hunter), Isabella Olandese (Aaron), Savannah Lane, Nathan Lane, Zachary Roebuck, Allison Roebuck and Madeline Russell; and his great grandchild Isaiah.
